一: many 与much 都可以做形容词，此时都可以修饰名词，不同之处:many 修饰可数名词,much 修饰不可数名词。例如:
eg: (1)有如此多的书在我的桌子下面 There are so many books under my desk.
(2)我没有很多的钱 I don't have much money.
二: many 不能做副词，much 可做副词，此时many 不能修饰形容词和副词的比较级，而much 可修饰形容词和副词的比较级，因为many 是原级，原级是不能修饰比较级的，many 的比较级为more.能修饰比较级的词只有much, even, a little, a bit 等。例如:
eg: The city is much more beautiful than before .此句中，beautiful 是多音节单词，比较级前面加上more, 所以more beautiful 为比较级，只能用副词much 来修饰。
三:much 可修饰动词，而many 却不能，例如:
Thank you very much.
