fall off和fall down之间的区别是什么

英语中， fall down, fall over 和 fall off 都有“倒下、摔倒”的意思，但是它们的用法有所不同，我们一起来看一下。

1. fall down：侧重强调“滑倒、倒下”，后接宾语时应加上介词from。

例句1：Tom hit the tree so hard that he fell down.

汤姆重重地撞到树上，结果自己倒下了。

例句2：I almost fell down on the icy road.

在结冰的路上我几乎摔倒了。

2. fall over：侧重强调“向前摔倒，跌倒”，作此讲时不接宾语。

例句3：I saw the little boy fall over.

我看见这个小男孩跌倒了。

例句4：Kids would fall over again and again when they learn to walk.

小孩在学走路时会一次次的摔倒。

3. fall off：侧重强调“跌落、从……上掉下来”。后面直接接宾语。

例句5：I saw a boy falling off the bike.

我看见一个男孩正从自行车上摔下来。

上句等同于：

I saw a boy falling down from the bike.

例句6：Beware of objects that can fall off shelves.

小心可能从架子上掉下来的物品。
